Light of Hope Sports Teams

by | Jul 27, 2017

On his recent visit our newest trustee David Ward and his wife Katie went to see how the Light of Hope’s sports teams are getting on and what a difference VisionZambia is making to their lives.

John introduced us to the managers of the football team and the netball team and we drove to a local town, picked up some girls and bought them back to Linda to play a friendly football match. After the Linda team won 2:0, we chatted with the players about their experiences.

Esther (left) is a striker and plays netball as a goal attack and Diana is a defender.

Esther says:
“I enjoy playing football because it keeps me fit and I can’t be moving around the football doing nothing. We have won all the games, apart from four which we drew.”

Diana says:

“Thank you very much to Vision Zambia for being with us because without you we would not be where we are now. We really appreciate it.”

Charles

“I feel good when I play football. I play no 8 as a striker/supplier. I like this team because I started here. I am very thankful to Fulham Football club because of the jersey. One day I hope Fulham will come to Linda and watch us play and pick some of the team to play in the UK.

Kabaya who is 20 reports: “We have played 15 games and we are winning. We need a bus. I wish there will be more football teams playing here.”
