Retiring

by | Mar 27, 2024

Dear VisionZambia supporter,

We write to tell you that VisionZambia is retiring after over 30 years of supporting Linda Community, near Lusaka in Zambia.

As of December 31, 2024 all funds will be distributed according to the trustees decisions and the charity will be closed.

Together over the years we have accomplished so much. When we first engaged with the community it was a shanty area with few services, ravaged by HIV/Aids and with little hope for the children to receive meaningful education or healthcare. Cholera was a yearly occurrence as there was little clean and dependable water.

Over the years that has changed. The community is now thriving with a wonderful school, a well-equipped and functioning hospice/hospital, innovative and self-supporting womens’ groups, and sporting opportunities for young people. This is all thanks to your contributions and for that we salute you.

We feel proud of our achievement but we recognise we are no longer spring chickens. We consider it a sign of success to end our charity knowing that our goal of a more sustainable and vibrant community is evident. We have made many friends in Linda and we wish them every good wish for the future.

Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions.

With our love and gratitude for your donations at VisionWorks events and beyond,

Jeff and Sue
